Our home has been the stage for everyday, ordinary scenes that, upon reflection, become so much less ordinary. Who knew that the simple moments of life could hold so much promise and excitement. Each day offers a fresh, untouched canvas upon which to paint hopes and dreams. Connections with loved ones are renewed and bonds are strengthened by the magic of 'home'.

This past few days, my little and I have bonded over baking... fresh, delicious, wholegrain bread. Lathered in butter and oh-so-scrumptious.





At first glance, my munchkin wasn't too sure about the tasting but three slices later couldn't wait to have more (and I'm happy to oblige when it's our preservative free dough)...

Munchkin has been amazing me every day with his progress, despite well-meaning observations and advice. Yes, I know that my little has deficits in certain areas. Yes I am doing everything humanly possible to support development in those areas. Yes I'm a little cranky with groundhog-day conversations (note the heavy sarcasm!). Luckily I've developed a thick skin since that fateful day in 2009, and my well-developed ability to become selectively deaf- fine tuned during my teenage years- also comes in handy at times. Progress is progress, regardless of the speed it develops, and I couldn't have dreamed of a more precious gift- my little has opened my eyes to a wider world of wonder, tolerance and understanding that has changed me for the better. There is no sweeter sound than that of my special boy delighting in the simple beauty of life.

Our tribe has grown exponentially to now include Shannan, Louise and Jay. Wonderfully warm, giving and knowledgeable women committed to supporting and encouraging my little to reach for the stars and beyond... with the invaluable input from Koala, Platypus and Kangaroo, pioneers in the field of fun, laughter and mayhem.







I could drink in that smile until the sweetness overflows and then some ♥

We've had yet more wet and woolly days, interspersed with classic Gold Coast sunshine and beautiful blue skies. Clear as clear can be, and with just the slightest hint of a gentle breeze to keep the humidity at bay.





Resisting the strong urge to lock ourselves away indoors during some of the recent inclement weather, we ventured out to enjoy the spoils of a watery day- lilypad covered ponds springing to life, entrancing my little with glimmering ripples and tiny splashes from vibrant coloured goldfish celebrating their underwater paradise.









Without a doubt, we're rockin' our stage with the theatrics of life.
